I. JOB DECRIPTIONS

1. Lead the Product Excellence team

Assign, coach, foster an improvement mindset, and align with TQM goals (not Product Quality day-to-day).

2. Initiate and manage cross-functional improvement projects

Lead initiatives focusing on reducing defects, improving process efficiency, and optimizing mass production flow (not Product Quality inspection).

3. Analyze recurring product/operational issues and drive RCA/CAPA with relevant functions

Coordinate with PD, Sourcing, Product Quality, Vendors, and CS for root cause analysis and solution (focus on system/process, not line inspection).

For repeated manufacturing issues, work directly with factories to identify and resolve root causes. For issues related to design, collaborate closely with the Product Development (PD) team to drive effective solutions.

4. Standardize and enhance SOPs, checklists, and process flows

Develop/update documentation for process excellence, share best practices, and roll out to teams

5. Drive risk assessment & critical issue escalation for product performance (not compliance issues of Product Quality)

Identify potential risks/market feedback, lead escalation to management for resolution (do not handle product release QC).

6. Own supplier/process performance scorecards (collaborating with Product Quality, not auditing)

Analyze scorecard data, recommend process changes, and facilitate supplier improvement (not issue quality holds).

7. Provide data analytics, trend insights, and improvement recommendations to management

Compile and analyze performance/market data, present recommendations to the TQM Head/Board.

8. Build a continuous improvement culture and capability

Organize training, promote Lean/Kaizen/PDCA, and encourage ownership across teams (not run Product Quality compliance audits).

9. Act as main contact for cross-functional projects impacting product excellence (not day-to-day quality gatekeeping)

Coordinate cross-team initiatives (PD, Sourcing, CS, Product Quality) for long-term process/product excellence.

II. REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge
    • Expert-level (highly advanced) understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PDCA, etc.) and proven experience applying them in manufacturing or supply chain environments.
    • Solid knowledge of mass production operations, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Good grasp of root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement frameworks.
    • Familiarity with supplier management, performance measurement systems (scorecards), and process documentation (SOPs, checklists, flowcharts).
    • Awareness of market feedback mechanisms, e-commerce operations, and customer experience as they relate to product/process excellence.
    • Understanding of risk assessment and project management principles.
    • (Optional/Plus) Knowledge of data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and basic statistical analysis.
  • Skills
    • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to coach, inspire, and empower team members.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills: able to lead multiple improvement projects concurrently and deliver on deadlines.
    • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills: can identify system/process gaps, synthesize insights from data, and propose innovative solutions.
    • Effective cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to influence without authority).
    • Strong process documentation and standardization abilities.
    • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and (preferably) data visualization/analysis tools.
    • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-cultural environment.
    • High adaptability, continuous learning, and a “growth mindset”.
  • Experience
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in process improvement, operations management, manufacturing excellence, business process re-engineering, or related fields.
    • Minimum 2 years in a team lead, supervisor, or associate manager role with proven experience managing improvement projects and leading teams.
    • Hands-on experience in driving cross-departmental initiatives, change management, and/or supplier/process performance improvement (preferably in manufacturing, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries).
    • Experience in developing and implementing SOPs, process documentation, and continuous improvement programs.
    • (Preferred) Experience in international or e-commerce environments, working with global teams or vendors.
    • (Plus) Experience in sporting goods, furniture, or multi-category products is a strong advantage.
