RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Supplier Identification and Assessment:
- Research and identify potential suppliers for finished products, including manufacturers and wholesalers.
- Evaluate suppliers based on factors such as quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Lead high-value negotiations with key furniture suppliers to secure optimal terms and strategic partnerships, focusing on pricing structures, payment frameworks, delivery timelines, and long-term quality assurance.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and governance of complex supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives, risk mitigation policies, and compliance standards.
- Act as a key stakeholder in supplier performance management and contract lifecycle optimization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain proactive, high-level communication with key suppliers to resolve escalations, reinforce performance expectations, and ensure alignment on strategic business objectives. Provide structured, data-driven feedback to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of co-innovation by partnering with suppliers to uncover opportunities for new product development, sustainable materials sourcing, process enhancements, and cost efficiencies. Act as a catalyst for supplier-led innovation that supports brand differentiation and competitive advantage.
- Resolve disputes and discrepancies with suppliers in a timely and professional manner to maintain positive relationships and ensure continuity of supply.
Coordinate with Product Development and Engineering Teams
- Contribute sourcing expertise to influence design-for-sourcing decisions, ensuring that selected furniture products and components meet aesthetic, functional, and quality standards while optimizing for cost, lead time, and manufacturability.
- Champion a collaborative, cross-functional approach that accelerates time-to-market and enhances supplier integration into the product development lifecycle.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, or a related field.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willing to learn, thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a can-do attitude
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
- Sound knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and industry trends.
- Familiar working with international manufacturers is a plus
