JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Product Development Leader (Sporting Goods) position is to lead and manage the product development process from concept to market launch. This position ensures that new products meet market demands, optimize quality, cost, and time, while supporting the company‘s business strategy. Additionally, the Product Development Leader needs to collaborate with other departments such as Souring, QA, Legal, Customer Service, Creative, Content Listing, Data to ensure the feasibility and success of new products in a competitive environment.
Market Research and Trend Analysis
Conduct comprehensive market research initiatives aimed at gathering data on product research, including function, selling points, and pain points, as well as customer behaviors
Product Creation and Development
- Lead the product development project, focusing on sporting goods and gardening products
- Build the complete specifications including all product’s description & requirement (sketch, measurement, color, material, quality standard, function…) by collaborating with QA, Creative, Sourcing, Sale, Legal, Customer Service & Suppliers
- Delivering & explaining the specifications to suppliers for sample making then make sure samples making is on time for bulk production
- Sample checking to match with Specification and sample validation for mass production
- Follow up sample sending from China to Vietnam
- Send specification to Sourcing team to launch quotation with vendor
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, ensuring collaborative efforts between research, design, quality assurance, supply chain, and sales departments
- Drive cross-departmental alignment to refine product concepts and optimize them for market readiness
- Collaborate with executive leadership to present market research findings, product innovations, and business case proposals
- Serve as the key point of contact in product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities
Leadership
- Directs and motivates a group of team member to accomplish a certain KPI
- Inspire followers to take the initiatives necessary for success
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- Bachelor‘s degree in Engineering fields
- Experience in Product Development/ Merchandiser or similar roles
- Understanding and proficiency in the process of product development, including the ability to read 2D drawings
- An awareness of quality control standards, material properties, cost considerations, and production efficiency would be advantageous
- E-commerce knowledge, Sporting Goods, Gardening domain is preferable
Skills
- Well-organize, ability to go into details, project management skills
- Strong in communication and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure, meet established timelines & high demanding levels
- High adaptability, able to switch quickly to new projects and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- “Going the extra mile” spirit, you always want to reach beyond your limit
Experience
- Have around 5-7 years of working in Product Development in Global company
- Experience and deep understanding about Sporting goods / Gardening products
